Big news: we have been selected by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to continue developing A.D.A.M.S. (ADvanced Astronaut Medical Support) and create the next generation of Connected Care Medical Modules (C2M2s)!
In preparation for lunar missions and future Mars expeditions, the CSA aims to develop technologies that will enable astronauts to autonomously monitor their health and manage medical issues while being far from Earth. These advancements not only expand Canada's expertise in space technology but also have practical applications for Canadians, particularly in remote and Indigenous communities facing similar healthcare access challenges as astronauts on deep-space missions.
C2M2s are designed to detect, diagnose, treat, and monitor certain health conditions. They enhance care by improving speed, quality, and follow-up, simplifying clinical decisions, and reducing the need for costly and risky medical evacuations. The CSA plans to further develop C2M2s to better serve users both in space and on Earth.
