Deep Space Healthcare Challenge

EZResus won
the CanadianSpace Agency
Deep Space Healthcare Challenge!

In November 2021, we received a surprising email from one of our users. It looked a little like this: ''Hi, I'm a pharmacist from Ottawa. I'm really passionate about healthcare in space. You should look into this challenge.''

You know, we're used to geeky emails from our users; many of them suffer from the same intensity problem as the rest of our team! ;-) But... space? Really?

We never thought that by clicking on this link, we would change the destiny of our NPO!! Watching the video, we immediately saw the parallel: it's true that there are many similarities between space medicine and medicine on earth in remote regions. Teams are small, resources are limited, communication can be a big challenge...

To be honest, we didn't really believe it. A small NPO from Quebec, lost among hundreds of companies across Canada, including large organizations with big projects and big funding. You know us, we went ALL IN. Part of the team started working part-time, I took a sabbatical year followed by a pause from my career as an emergency physician. All this to concentrate on EZResus and its space version.

We are happy to announce that
we won the challenge !!!

This is the extraordinary opportunity to be able to push EZResus as far as possible. It's the chance to be able to dream of incredible things like creating the first virtual assistant in resuscitation. This is the chance to integrate the huge list of all the ideas that you send us.

Space exploration is undoubtedly humanity's greatest technological challenge. I find it poetic to think that in such an extraordinarily complex endeavor, we end up needing simple things. I find it beautiful to think that to manage a medical emergency in space, we don't need obscure technology, but rather the expertise, calm, resourcefulness and knowledge of the small medical team who works miracles at 2 a.m. in northern parts of Canada.

We would never be here without you. You are the reason we do this. We want to save lives with you!

Thank you for being part of the adventure!
